What You Do as an Environmental Risk Assessment Expert
As an Environmental Risk Assessment Expert, you assess substance safety according to European and national legislation. You evaluate the hazards, exposure and risks of substances based on empirical and modelling information. This deals with distribution and behaviour of substances in the environmental compartments and the risks involved with emissions. This helps determine which substances can be used safely under which conditions. In addition, you identify potential problems with substances and/or degradation products, for example also for emerging substances and/or microplastics. Together with colleagues specialized in (eco)toxicology and risk assessment, you document these findings in, for example, a REACH registration dossier or a dossier for the recovery of substances from waste. Positioned within the Industry & Buildings Business Line, we operate globally. Our focus areas include the energy transition, circular economy, climate change, and a healthy living environment. We work for clients in chemical and process industries, as well as the energy sector. While we work worldwide, our home base is in the Netherlands. Our clients range from medium-sized companies to multinationals and governments. As an Environmental Risk Assessment Expert, you’ll be part of multidisciplinary project teams.
