The job profile
This is an exciting role and marks the next step in the development of the Finance function in Symeres. We are looking for a Group Business Controller who leads business control across the Symeres Group worldwide. You will act as the commercial business partner for the Executive Board and regional management and will work closely with the CFO, finance team and site directors
Your responsibilities:
- Be the inspiring yet critical financial sparring partner for Operations and Business Development;
- Prepare and implement annual global budget, monthly reporting and rolling forecasts. Pro-actively alert deviations on budget and forecasts in all elements of the P&L and Cash flow;
- Monitor, analyze and report the weekly/monthly/quarterly performance of the company and provide insights to challenge and support the business;
- Manage the global cash pool and optimize cash conversion. Responsible for hedging;
- Monitor, update and discuss the global insurance portfolio;
- Responsible for all monthly and quarterly reports to the shareholders and banks;
- Key contact for our shareholders and banks;
- Key owner of the funnel to cash process;
- Instrumental to connect the dots between Finance, BD and Operations;
- Work closely with the Group Financial Controller and Project Controller in order to optimize processes, reports, analyses and performance;
- Reporting financial performance and risk analyses to senior management;
- Cost control is your 2nd nature;
- Participate in M&A projects together with the CFO and Group Financial Controller;
- Together with the Group Financial Controller responsible for the onboarding of new acquisitions (Accounting, processes and systems);
- Support project managers and BD by analyzing pricing calculations;
- Deliver solicited and unsolicited advice, analyses and reviews on improvement of our financial performance.
The ideal candidate
This is a great opportunity to work in a solid CRO under private equity ownership. This role requires but also gives you a lot of flexibility, great exposure and the chance to directly influence the commercial results of the company. Therefore, it is essential that you have strong stakeholder management skills. As a result of your people skills you are able to make impactful improvements. We are looking for a hands-on and driven professional with a passion for data analytics and a broad approach to business control (not just number crunching). You are eager to develop best practices and optimize the control function on a global scale.
- You have a Masters degree in Economics, a post master qualification (RC) is considered a plus;
- At least 5 to 8 years of work experience in a similar position;
- Experience with private equity investors is a must;
- Strong Finance and business acumen;
- Very savvy with MS Excel, BI and consolidation tools (like Qlik or Tagetik), be able to run macro’s and setup financial modelling;
- Experience in a project organization is a must, experience in an CRO or in the pharmaceutical sector is a plus;
- Experience in working with automated systems;
- Experience with M&A and diligence processes is a plus.
