During your assignment, you will be part of the D&EM (Developed and Emerging Markets) R&D team.You’llbe working in a high performing team, alongside peers always trying to reach the next level.You’llbe reportingtoMichel Sturtz – Head of R&D Productivity. 

As a fully integrated team member, we welcome you to take part in the team’s activities such as team meetings, zoneconnects,and categorymeetings, which will give you a real feel for the company and the business. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders. The delivery ofIngredient Specification Simplificationwill be your primary responsibility.

Project brief

You willbesupportingidentifyingpotentialto harmonize ingredient specifications across Business Units, and to perform project scoping and potentially prototyping. This will entail creating a comprehensive review of the past work done across the different Business Units using our Kraft Heinz systems, creating proposals across ingredientcategoriesand aligning them with internal stakeholders across R&D and Procurement, and executing trials to hands-on test the harmonization proposals in the Pilot Plant. 

Key activities 

  • Review specification harmonization work done by R&D and other departments

  • Identifyand review current specifications between Business Units (Europe and East)

  • Suppliers (single-sourced ingredients)

  • Volumes 

  • Point of supply/ origin

  • Production technology and suppliers between multiple business units.

  • Prioritize ingredients specification harmonization based on opportunities and potential generated costing 

  • Perform preliminary (on paper) feasibility of potential harmonization (qualitative and quantitative) 

  • Carrying out a techno-economic evaluation on the outcome generated by findings

  • Identifypotential risks

  • Present to differentstakeholders'status of the project and key findings

  • Basic Requirements for all:

    You should havestrong communicationskills and fluency in English, both written and verbal (Dutch is not a requirement but other languages are a plus) 

  • You are enrolled at a university for at least 50% study load for the duration of the internship. 

  • Non – EU Students: Need to be enrolled at a Dutch University for the whole duration of the internship.

  • NOTE: EU working rights arerequired(Either you have EU Citizenship, you are studying in the Netherlands or have relevant student work visa)

  • Currently doing:

  • Master’slevel in Food Technology, Food Processing Technology, FoodQualityor food-related engineering(Focus onIngredient Functionality, Food Processing, Unit Operations, ITsavviness)

  • Ability to Simplify the complex

  • We like to keep it simple. And to execute fast. Your ability to simplify will be highlyappreciatedwhen you provide simple solutions dealing with complex challenges. 

  • Communication Skills
