The Rejuv-lnc program in Lemba Therapeutics is seeking a driven and highly skilled Research Scientist to lead innovative research initiatives and contribute to the development of groundbreaking therapies. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading research initiatives, designing and executing scientific studies. This role encompasses a broad scope of responsibilities, driving complex research projects, working with cross-functional teams. The role also requires contributing to publications and patents.
The Rejuv-lnc program focuses on developing oligonucleotide-based therapies that target long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) for a range of disease indications. This involves gaining molecular insights into the therapeutic mechanisms using cell models, including primary cells, and creating new assays and systematic experimental workflows. The program operates at the intersection of multiple disciplines -including omics analysis, molecular biology, cell biology and signaling – and utilizes a range of techniques such as qPCR, ELISA, RNA FISH and microscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test hypotheses, set scientific agenda, lead experimental design and execution of research projects, ensuring alignment with scientific and company goals.
- Identify key experimental needs and contribute to formulating solutions to solve experimental problems.
- Develop and implement new methodologies to advance experimental analysis and improve scientific understanding.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results and generate hypotheses that push forward scientific understanding.
- Collaborate with project teams and external partners to ensure alignment and efficient execution of research goals.
- Write and review SOPs, ensuring consistency and best practices in research protocols.
- Mentor (junior) lab staff, providing guidance on experimental techniques and lab practices.
- Document protocols and results to contribute to scientific publications, patents and other research outputs.
- Stay updated on scientific literature, attend conferences to promote knowledge sharing and foster innovation.
- Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols and regulatory standards.
What We Are Looking For:
- Ph.D. in Molecular/Cellular/RNA Biology or relevant field, with a strong publication and/or patent record.
- 3+ years of relevant lab experience in a research environment.
- Deep understanding of molecular and/or cellular biology, gene regulation, transcription and cell signaling.
- Strong experience in experimental design, data analysis and high-throughput methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and engaged approach to contributing to team success and scientific advancements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Profile:
- Proactive, innovative, analytical, highly motivated, structured, and autonomous.
- Strong ability to design and execute complex experiments and interpret data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior team members.
- Commitment to continuous learning and advancing the field of scientific research.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional development and career progression within a fast-growing biotech company.
- A dynamic and innovative work environment that fosters collaboration and scientific excellence.
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working options.
