The IC-design team inimec Netherlands develops innovative solutions for the Life Science and MedicalDevice domain and on the other hand for massive and heterogeneous sensornetworks to connect billions of devices within the internet of things (IoT). In this position you will participate inthe development of innovative solutions that improve the future of healthcare. Together with otherResearchers and Engineers you will investigate technologies and contribute toour research in implantables, artificial organs and neuro-stimulation. We deliver our designsto customers, patent the different inventions, and publish our results inrenowned conferences and papers (ISSCC, VLSI, ESSCIRC, DATE, JSSC, . In this position, you are part of amulti-disciplinary team to make our solutions smarter by adding neuromorphiccircuits, use analog circuits for sensing solutions, and develop miniaturetransceivers for IoT and medical/ implantable applications. 

What you will do

We need you as a Senior Analog IC Designer to be part of our multidisciplinary team to: 

  • Design innovative and high-performance integrated circuits focusing on . implantable therapeutics, nerve stimulation and wireless power transfer. It includes blocks like sensor readouts, ADCs for medical applications, instrumentation amplifiers, low-noise amplifier, analog filtering, programmable gain amplifiers, etc.
  • Understand and support (internal and external) customer needs, challenges, and requirements and translate those into innovations and solutions to be incorporated into your designs.
  • Script and automate design flows.
  • Implementing modules, integrating, and finish the chip for manufacturing.
  • Together with the team, you will perform research focused on new technical methods; 
  • Publish and participate in high-quality reports, contribute to patent applications;
  • Coach and guide junior team members to grow their talent, the quality of the work, and the innovative relevance; 
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as Digital IC design, Health Research, Photonics, AI…

    Who you are

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD degree with 5+ years of industry experience in Electronic Engineering.
  • Strong experience in Analog IC Design (design, layout and verification) 
  • Solid understanding of transistors, circuits, architectures, control loops and signal integrity.
  • Experience with CMOS is a must, FDSOI technology is a plus. 
  • Experience with Cadence IC6 and signoff tools (like Calibre) is a must.
  • Sign-off experience is a must. 
  • Affinity with digital design (mixed signal simulation, FPGA) is a plus.
  • Experience with programming language Python is a plus.
  • Previous experience working closely with (internal or external) customers is a plus.
  • Able to take initiative and responsibility for team’s success, which means thinking pro-actively, working independently and having a creative and solving problem attitude are attributes that define yourself.
  • You are someone who has a broad interest across disciplines and who likes to embrace new challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
